Welcome
Glasshouse Tango is a community-focused initiative dedicated to bringing traditional Argentine Tango and Folklore social dancing to the local Glasshouse Mountains community in Queensland
We provide regular opportunities for locals to learn and experience traditional tango social dancing as it is danced socially in Argentina, through a variety of community activities, workshops and social dance nights.
The group is organised by Erica & Fernando, both originally from Argentina and now settled in the beautiful hinterland.

*** Youth Promotion ***
We are delighted to introduce tango to the younger generations and so we are running a special promotion this month. If you are age between 18-22 all our tango dance lessons are free throughout the month!
Private Lessons
If you can't make to any of out lessons or wish to focus individually we have a private dance studio available just for that! The dance studio will let us work individually with you to create a more personal learning experience.
Private Dance Sessions for Couples
The studio setting is ideal for couples who want to bring Argentine Tango dancing into their relationship. Our teaching approached is not focused on sequence of steps. Instead, each lesson is tailored to help you and your partner become safely embodied and develop an internal and shared dialogue through music and movement. We guide you to build greater presence, trust, and emotional connection within your relationship using the language of tango.
If this speaks to you, we’d love to hear from you.
Private Session Details:
Standard session (1 Hour)
Couples: $100 (50pp)

About Us
Erica Fernandez is an social worker and counsellor with 30+ years of professional experience. A long‑time Argentinian tango dancer she was born and raised in Argentina, where music and dance were a natural part of her everyday life. When she moved to Maleny she became involved with the local social tango group, sharing her cultural heritage and love of tango through music & dancing, "musicalisación" (DJing), and creating warm, welcoming spaces for her local community to enjoy social tango.
Fernando. Originally from Argentina, began promoting the dancing of traditional Argentine tango in Tasmania in 2002. He is the founder of the "Tasmanian Club de Tango" in Hobart 2004, and the past club president 2004-2005. He has been an invited dance teacher at the New Zealand Tango Festival 2005-2007 and the New Zealand Tango Congress as well as competed in Tango dance tournaments. He was also organiser of the first ever "Hobart Tango Festival 2004". He's also had the pleasure to teach and organise tango groups in tango dance groups in Hobart, Dunedin, Taupo, Wynnum; and now settled in the Glasshouse Mountains.
